In Rural Exploration Ep-11 – Abandoned somewhere near Anderson, AL.! I go for another micro-adventure close to home in search of abandoned barns, homes and more. In this rural exploration micro-adventure I find all that and more! More, in the form of beautiful rural landscapes complete with livestock!

When on these rural exploration micro-adventures I always wonder what all the abandoned barns, farm equipment, cars and houses were like in their prime. While some that I find are in their prime I’m always amazed at how many are just just abandoned without being torn down. But it makes for wonderful rural photography and rural art!

In this rural exploration micro-adventure I find myself in Anderson, Alabama. Anderson is located in Lauderdale County, in North Alabama near Rogersville. The town is situated alongside Anderson Creek. The town was first settled in 1825.

Anderson is locally known for the Stew Shack and the Fish Creel. Two awesome restaurants.

As I go rural exploring I hope to find abandoned barns, homes, beautiful rural landscapes and more. This rural exploration micro-adventure did not disappoint. As I discovered abandoned barns and homes I always want to know more. What were they like in their prime, what happened for them to become abandoned or apparently abandoned?

When I take these rural exploration micro-adventures I’m always mindful and respectful of trespassing signs. My hope in all my rural exploration micro-adventures is to document a side of our country that many will never see. There are so many awesome places, homes, barns, farm equipment that make such incredible pictures and videos that others should see.

Even as you watch this there is a new wave of vloggers and photographers that are shaping the rural art scene. People seeing the beauty in abandoned barns, homes and rural landscapes.

Limestone County is found in North Alabama near Athens.

Rural exploration micro adventures can be done anywhere by anyone and provide a look at years gone by. When I’m rural exploring I always wonder what some of the abandoned places looked like and functioned as in their prime.

In this micro-adventure, Antique Carousel at Coolridge Park – Chattanooga TN. we explore the 1894 Dentzel antique carousel located in Coolridge Park, Chattanooga TN.

The antique carousel at Coolridge Park, Chattanooga TN was a per their website “The antique carousel was restored by local master wood carver Bud Ellis and a devoted team of craftspeople and volunteers at his studio “Horsing Around” located near Chattanooga.
The carousel provides a delightful old-fashioned experience with 52 whimsical hand carved animals, a calliope band organ, and ornate between gold leaf benches.

The Antique Carousel at Coolridge Park – Chattanooga TN. only costs $1.00 per ride! A great bargain to bring the kid out in you or to introduce someone to carousels for the first time.

After riding the Antique Carousel at Coolridge Park – Chattanooga TN. we found ourselves walking around Coolridge Park itself. Coolridge Park is an awesome park in the middle of downtown Chattanooga. This is how it’s described on their website – Coolidge Park, located on the city’s North Shore, is one place where you can overlook the beautiful Tennessee River, play in an interactive water fountain, stroll across on one of the world’s largest pedestrian bridges-the Walnut Street Bridge, test your skills at rock climbing, picnic with your family in plenty of open green spaces, admire a military memorial and even ride a tiger on the 100-year old restored antique carousel. Coolidge Park is adjacent to local entertainment, art galleries, shops, and restaurants and serves as a venue for numerous concerts, festivals and special events. It is also part of the Tennessee Riverwalk, a 13-mile long public greenway that runs along the Tennessee River – from the Southern Belle Riverboat to Chickamauga Dam. In 2006 The Peace Grove was added to Coolidge Park. It is a circular landscape of trees planted to represent each of Chattanooga’s Sister Cities and celebrate the city’s global friendships around the world.

In, Rural Exploration Ep-8 – Somewhere Near Gaston Hollow, Alabama, I find myself in another afternoon micro-adventure in search of abandoned barns, cars, homes, and sheds.

There are many “hollows” to do rural exploration in North Alabama in Limestone County. These areas in North Alabama are beautiful and peaceful yet many will never see them.

That’s why I do rural exploration in the form of a micro-adventure. It’s all about the rural art and photography. If someone doesn’t capture it, only a few will ever see things like Gaston Hollow Road in North Alabama. The best part is anyone can do a micro-adventure like this in an afternoon.

Rural exploration is something anyone can do. Grab your Iphone or Gopro and take the first random road you find out in the country, for an incredible micro-adventure.

One of the incredible finds on this micro-adventure was an old white abandoned church. It looked like something off the Walking Dead. It’s known as the Gaston Chapel by some and has long been closed. I also find several abandoned barns and several what seem to be abandoned homes.

These motorcycle micro-adventures were inspired by my childhood. My family and I would often go for a Sunday ride to just see what the country had to offer. In this micro adventure, Just Add Water Ep-4 – Just another day on the water – did I get pulled over?, I find myself in Decatur, Alabama out boating on the Tennessee River.

Boating on the Tennessee, River in Decatur, Alabama makes an awesome micro adventure. When boating on the Tennessee River in Decatur, Alabama, you never know what the Tennessee River will reveal on any given day.

As we were boating on the Tennessee River, in Decatur, Alabama, we saw quite a few people on the Tennessee River. We saw sailboats, high end ski boats, pontoon boats, bass boats, deck boats, cruising boats and even some Tennessee River barges.

When we are boating on the Tennessee River, in Decatur, Alabama, we often find ourselves anchored out at the popular Point Mallard Water Park.

Point Mallard Water Park is a water attraction in Decatur, Alabama that offers your typical water park fare. The cool part for those that boat on the Tennessee River is that the Point Mallard Water Park butts up against the Tennessee River. You can throw out your anchor, relax in your boat and watch people jumping off the high dive, riding water slides and more at Point Mallard Water Park. You can even take advantage of their music and save your boat battery!

Don’t have a boat to go boating on the Tennessee River in Decatur, Alabama for a micro adventure? No problem, most State Parks will rent an assortment of boats to you.

So if you’re looking for an awesome micro adventure consider just adding water and rent a boat from your local boat rental location and go have the time of your life for the day!

Lynchburg Tn. is a quaint southern Tennessee town full of life and color.

Lynchburg Tn. has a typical southern Tennessee town square that has been reinvented into a hub of excitement. Lynchburg Tn. is full of nice shops and excellent family owned restaurants.

Lynchburg Tn. is also home of Jack Daniels Distillery that offers free tours daily. Oddly enough I have heard that Lynchburg Tn. is in a dry county and they can only sell gift packs of Jack Daniels. The Jack Daniels Distillery has been a part of Lynchburg Tn. since the 1800’s but is located in Moore County which is a dry county. It has been dry since around 1920 when prohibition took place.

While in Lynchburg Tennessee we ate at the Barrelhouse BBQ restaurant and would highly recommend it if you ever visit Lynchburg Tennessee.

Urban hiking in Lynchburg Tennessee was an awesome experience. There is just something exciting doing Urban Exploration in these small southern cities like Lynchburg Tennessee!

Lynchburg Tennessee is located near Nashville and if you’re ever nearby Nashville or Lynchburg Tennessee then it’s a must stop destination. It was way more than expected – seriously!

In this week’s micro-adventure, Tennessee Aquarium – Tennessee Aquarium like you’ve never seen before!, we travel to Chattanooga, Tennessee to see sharks, otters and penguins!

The Tennessee Aquarium, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee has two main buildings that’s unique to the Tennessee Aquarium, one dedicated to salt water fish the other to fresh water river fish.

The Tennessee Aquarium, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee is located downtown and near many other Chattanooga, Tennessee attractions and restaurants.

While on this micro-adventure to the Tennessee Aquarium, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, we ate at the Mellow Mushroom then after visiting the Tennessee Aquarium, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, we visited Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream. Both conveniently located to the Tennessee Aquarium.

Some of our favorite attractions while at the Tennessee Aquarium, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, were the sharks, otters and penguins!

If visiting the Tennessee Aquarium, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, be sure and allow ample time to see others things while downtown.

Parking at the Tennessee Aquarium was convenient, close and reasonably priced.
