Old barns have become quite the rage and it seems that a lot of people on YouTube are interested in barns these days. So I decided to go exploring to see what I could find.

Rural exploring in Limestone County turned up Old Barns, New Barns, Pole Barns, Abandoned Barns, Vacant Barns, Sheds and more.

All of these barns can be found neat the County Seat of Limestone County which is Athens Alabama. Athens Alabama is rich in southern history.

Part of that Southern History includes miles and miles of farmland and beautiful barns of today and yesteryear.

Today I go Urban Hiking in the Robert Beaty Historic District of Athens, Alabama. The Southern historic homes of the Robert Beaty Historic District of Athens, Alabama are a sight to see. Beautiful Southern charm is on display throughout the Robert Beaty Historic District.

The Robert Beaty Historic District is located in the heart of downtown Athens, Alabama. Robert Beaty was one of the original founders of Athens, Alabama.

According to wikipedia: The district contains 86 contributing properties representing architectural styles including Federal, Greek Revival, Italianate, Eastlake, Victorian, and Spanish Colonial Revival.[2] The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.[1]

Urban Hiking – Ep-25 – Beautiful, Dog Friendly, Blue Ridge, Ga. Mountain Town

In today’s urban hiking micro-adventure we travel beautiful Blue Ridge, Ga. a beautiful dog friendly mountain town. Urban Hiking in Blue Ridge, Ga. was an awesome time of urban hiking.Blue Ridge, Ga. is a very esoteric dog friendly place full of shops, restaurants and even a train – the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway!

I spent the day urban hiking this small mountain town and had a wonderful time. What was interesting was how dog friendly Blue Ridge actually was. It seemed like every time you turned around that was a dog to be seen. I was not able to ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway but the next time I visit I hope to ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway!

As for the shops in Blue Ridge, Ga. there was a little something for everyone. Outdoor outfitters, Fudge shops, Arts and crafts, etc…

As noted on Google: ” Blue Ridge is a mountain town in northern Georgia. Exhibitions and shows at the Art Center and the Blue Ridge Community Theater highlight the work of the town’s thriving artistic community. Craft breweries and restaurants dot the downtown. Antique trains head to nearby mountain villages along the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Trails run through the Chattahoochee National Forest to Long Creek and Fall Branch waterfalls.”

In today’s micro adventure I go exploring in beautiful rural southern Tennessee around Snuff Branch Road and Pisgah Ridge! You’ll discover beautiful barns, an historic old church, abandoned old home and so much more.

Exploring rural southern Tennessee is always a blast. There are so many beautiful areas with beautiful barns, historic old churches and abandoned old farm houses.

I always enjoy exploring rural southern Tennessee due to its breath taking scenery, its awesome barns, historic old churches and all the abandoned homes it has to offer.

Snuff Branch Road and Pisgah Ridge road are located in Southern Giles County Tn. While located in Giles County they have a Pulaski, Tn address.

If you’ve ever thought about rural exploring in southern Tennessee, I’d highly recommend Snuff Branch and Pisgah Ridge Road in Giles County Tennessee for it’s beautiful scenery, barns, old historic church and more abandoned stuff!

In today’s micro adventure I go urban hiking in Alabama’s Mountain Town of Fort Payne! Urban Hiking in Alabama’s Mountain Town of Fort Payne was an awesome experience! Fort Payne has a beautiful main street that I had a great time urban hiking and exploring.

The Alabama Mountain Town of Fort Payne is located in the Northeastern part of Alabama in DeKalb County. Fort Payne also serves as the county seat.

Fort Payne is home of the historic DeKalb Theatre that still hosts many events.

Stores on main street, Fort Payne run the gambit from s Popcorn store to stores with vintage antiques to vinyl records.

Fort Payne is also home of the historic Fort Payne Opera House that is still active and a well known landmark – they also offer tours.

Fort Payne is also home of the Fort Payne Depot Museum.

Urban Hiking in Alabama’s Mountain Town of Fort Payne is a must see destination if you’re ever close by. It’s a wonderful place to explore.

In this Urban Hiking Micro Adventure I travel to the mountain town of Mentone, Alabama. Mentone, Alabama is a quaint little mountain town full of life and local artists. Mentone, Alabama is located in DeKalb County on top of lookout mountain.

Mentone, Alabama is home of a beautiful bed and breakfast known as the Mentone Inn. The Mentone Inn looked like a must do if you were staying over night for a micro adventure. The Mentone Inn gets great reviews on Tripadvisor as well.

Then one of my favorite places urban hiking in Mentone was the Wildflower Cafe. The Wildflower Inn serves up various dishes to meet anyone’s hunger needs! On this day the Mentone’s Wildflower Cafe served up one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever eaten.

Overall I’d certainly encourage you to take an urban hiking micro adventure to Mentone, Alabama in the near future and experience the Mentone Inn and have the Wildflower Cafe serve you up an excellent meal!

In this Rural Exploration micro adventure I travel to southern Tennessee’s World Famous Historic Milky Way Farms and discover old barns, churches and more along the way! Exploring Southern Tennessee is always a lot of fun!

Milky Way Farms is the estate of chocolate moguls Frank & Ethel Mars, of the Milky Way candy bar! You can still tour the historic Milky Way Farms Manor House (mansion). At one time Milky Way Farm was the largest employer in Giles County.

Before the rural exploration of the Milky Way Farm I found a ton of old churches, barns and several abandoned homes.

Scottsboro, Alabama is found in North Alabama and has a ton to offer, and was an awesome urban hike!

While Urban Hiking in Scottsboro I found a ton of awesome stuff that only a beautiful southern city can offer. The Town Square was full of commerce with very few abandoned storefronts. The courthouse was magnificent and there were several murals throughout Scottsboro.

But one of the highlights of this Micro Adventure while Urban Hiking in Scottsboro, Alabama was Payne’s Sandwich and Soda Fountain Shop! This is a must do while in Scottsboro if you decide to go urban hiking there.

Today I explore Old Churches, Old Barns, a Cotton Gin and beautiful farmland off Veto Road in Elkmont, Alabama a beautiful North Alabama small town! North Alabama is ripe for Rural Exploration due to the abundance of abandoned stuff – of course not all is abandoned!

Rural Exploration is all about abandoned America, and North Alabama is just simply beautiful. As we explore this beautiful small town of Elkmont, in North Alabama, you’ll see a great example of abandoned North Alabama that many need to see.

So it is that I love Rural Exploration so I can show others abandoned homes, abandoned barns, abandoned cars and other abandoned things – mostly beautiful abandoned landscapes. But again much is not abandoned yet beautiful – Old Churches, Barns, Country Homes and more!

Today I discover a beautiful abandoned barns, homes and more that I can only imagine how it looked in its prime along with beautiful country landscapes! Veto Road in Elkmont, Alabama was an excellent rural exploration destination!

Elkmont, Alabama is located in Limestone County, and is worth the drive if you love abandoned things and beautiful farmland and landscapes!
